Overseas Partnerships
The University actively fosters partnerships with institutions in countries across the globe. We recognise that for many students study abroad is both a rewarding and an expensive option. This is why we have worked with universities and colleges overseas to develop unique programmes of study that allow students to complete all or part of their course in their home country. In this way you gain the benefit of achieving a qualification without going to the full expense
of doing all your studies abroad. Our partnership agreements are of three kinds:
- Franchise agreements - our courses are delivered at the student's home institution, leading to a Birmingham City University qualification. These courses are fully quality-assured and validated by the University.
- Progression agreements - These are joint ventures between the student's home institution and the University. The student obtains a qualification in his/her home country, such as an undergraduate Diploma. This qualification is recognised by the University and allows him/her to progress onto a Birmingham City University degree course in the UK, leading to a Birmingham City University degree qualification.
- Articulation agreements - The student will take the preliminary part of his/her course at the home institution, and the latter part, usually the last two years of a degree, at Birmingham City University in the UK. The preliminary studies at the student's home institution do not lead to a qualification in his/her home country, but are fully quality-assured and validated by the University.
