“Our aim is to

of the barriers
that still surround entry to HE”

Education Liaison

Our service forms part of the Marketing and Communication Department and therefore supports that team in promoting the University to prospective students.

A large part of what we do centres around working to ensure that the right students are recruited onto the right programmes. This is largely achieved by attending Higher Education (HE) fairs, hosting school visits and supporting information and guidance workers, although we do participate in many other activities.

The main focus of the service is on providing information to encourage informed decisions –whether that is for parents, teachers, local partners or most importantly the students themselves.

Our aim is to raise educational standards and aspirations and help remove any of the barriers that still surround entry to HE.
Finally, through working with the local community, we try to identify any gaps in information and seek to develop new ways to meet those needs. It is for this reason, and for the demand for flexibility, that the role of the Service continues to evolve.
