Nursing Graduates Publish Book

Two recent nursing graduates of Birmingham City University have written a book about Electrocardiograms. Alwyn Scott and Alan Davies intend the book to be used by nurses and healthcare professionals whose roles include the recording of ECGs; each chapter has a short section on relevant physiology and a case study and quiz at the end of each chapter, which links theory to practice. Unique features of the book include a number of photographs and diagrams, along with practical instruction in recording good quality ECGs and correct patient positioning. In addition, the authors have incorporated “visual mapping” for those with learning disabilities such as dyslexia: this is designed to make retention of data simpler for those who find the traditional linear methods of learning difficult.

Lippincott Williams & Wilkins intend to publish the book in the UK, Europe and Australia by mid 2009.
