Connecting your award with the Birmingham City University name
The University is aware that many of its alumni would like to connect their existing University of Central England awards to the new university name. You can either purchase a new certificate for £20 or you can apply for a free linking document to connect your existing award with the new name. This service will be available until 31 December 2008.
This service is not extended to Birmingham Polytechnic Postgraduate and Bachelor awards conferred by the Council for National Academic Awards.
Purchasing a replacement certificate
The certificate which the University issues as proof of the conferment of an award is a unique and important document which should be retained by its recipient. The University’s change of name means that, whilst all certificates previously issued in the name of University of Central England in Birmingham, are still valid proof of an award, graduates of the institution now have the opportunity to purchase a certificate bearing the name of Birmingham City University for each award they hold. To order a new certificate, print and complete this form and return it with a payment of £20 for each certificate to the address on the form.
Free linking document
All University of Central England award holders can apply for a document which connects their award to the new university title free of charge. All you have to do is complete the form below and press send.
If you studied more than one course at the University you need only apply for one document which will cover all your awards. Alumni who completed their course in 2007 do not need to apply for this document as one will be included when your award is presented or sent to you.
Please note that the University will be receiving a vast amount of requests for these documents and whilst all requests will be responded to as soon as possible, it may take some time to process your request.
